My Photographs

Interest in photography came early for me, but I've not been consistent in the art.  I'll pick the camera up and put it down as the occasion warrants, and sometimes I'll haul off and do some set-up photographs just to attempt the art.

For those that wish to know, I use a Nikon 950Coolpix for the digital photographs, and for the 35mm stuff, I used a Pentax Spotmatic F with either the 50mm, 28mm, or 200mm lenses.  For those photos done on film, I scanned them with an HP flatbed scanner from the print or the slide/negative.  I also would duplicate the slide/negative with the Nikon and used Photoshop Deluxe for further manipulations and clean up.

Within these pages, you will be able to view what I consider to be some of my "good" stuff.

The new stuff can be found at D.C. area 2006

Photos as Art

Sometimes photography is used to record history, sometimes it is used to chronicle events or objects.  Regardless of the purpose of the individual photograph, it is always an art form.  This is a thumbnail gallery of photographs that I see as art.  The images vary, as do the techniques, but one and all, they are presented as art.  Click on any of the thumbnails to see the image more properly sized for viewing.

Travel

We've been fortunate to travel from time to time.  Most of the photos are either from Puerto Rico, or the Bahamas.  Pick one to see the thumbnails and then click on the thumbnail that tickles your fancy to see an enlarged version.

Sailing has long been a passion of mine.  Here are some of the images I managed to capture while pursuing that passion.  Click on a thumbnail to view the larger image.

It may be of some interest to see the evolution of boats that we've owned.
